296. Lawless (John Hillcoat, 2012)
This is a good movie that could have been a lot greater with some slight rewriting of a certain plot point (Jack Bondurant or how to bore me to death with the first two acts of your story and not make me care about you until the third act when your whole story doesn’t involve a preacher’s daughter and a “criminal boy” romance u g h b a r f and no it’s not just because it was shia ladouche because he wasn’t terrible he just didn’t really act at all until the third act). Hardy and Chastain were the highlights of the film, as was expected, and the costume design was something that I particularly loved in this one. [3.5/5]
