Another little underrated gem is Sam Mendes’ Away We Go, which will always be my favorite film of his. There hasn’t been a single time I’ve seen that movie without crying, whether in theaters or my DVD (and you can bet that listening to Alexi Murdoch’s Wait basically turns me into a mess - like right now). That movie just captures so many little aspects of humanity in a movie so well and the idea of two people just trying to find a place or people or anything that they can call home - that’s just really powerful to me.
